Concrete Foundations Association (CFA)is a national organization that supports cast-in-place contractors as the voice and recognized authority concrete industry. Members are organizations that participate in the design or construction of residential, commercial, and agricultural concrete. CFA cultivates discussions on important industry topics such as risk management, workforce development, and financial management.

Jason Ells grew up attending CFA meetings with his dad, Dennis Ells. Jason and Dennis would travel to the CFA convention to support Joe Carr, the founder of Custom Concrete and CFA president from 1993-1995. As Jason advanced in his career at Custom Concrete, it sparked an interest in becoming part of the CFA organization. Brad Schrock, CEO of Custom Concrete and CFA president from 2006-2008, approached Jason with the opportunity to be passed the baton.

Jason Ells began his time at CFA in a variety of roles ranging from a secretary, treasurer, and vice president. After 8 years of serving on the board of CFA, he was elected CFA president on July 7, 2022. Ells stated, “The opportunity to learn from others around the nation is unmatched. The people within the organization truly care and have a desire to help you grow.”

As Ells enters his 2-year term as president, he hopes to continue to build growth and intentionality.

“My goal for the upcoming years will be to keep growing membership while continuing to build intentional relationships with the current members,” said Ells.

Ells continued to say that he wants CFA to provide a place for leaders, on all levels, to come together and lean on each other’s knowledge.
