A Solid Foundation for Growth | Westfield’s Open Doors

Being active in our community is important to us, and we enjoy when we are able to walk alongside a local charity and not only give of our treasure but of our time and talent as well.

Last month we were blessed to join Open Doors of Washington Township and bring to life the foundation for their new Open Doors Pantry in Westfield, Indiana. Established in 1990 and an all-volunteer run non-profit organization, they improve the quality of life for township residents through food and clothing assistance, referral to community services and spiritual guidance. To date, they have served over 13,000 families with over 670,000 pounds of food.

Two years ago, due to the impending redevelopment of the site where their existing building is located, Open Doors embarked on a feasibility study for a new building to house their pantry – a building committee was formed, the necessary resources assembled and a capital campaign created.

Due to the generosity of community and local businesses, and the donation of an acre of property from the Westfield Washington School Corporation, the project came to fruition and a ground breaking ceremony was celebrated on July 30, 2016. As of November, they are under roof and working to finish out the interior for a spring grand opening.

Our team was overjoyed to get to be hands-on for this building project and give of our own time and talent to help ensure a solid foundation for Open Doors to serve those in need within our community for years to come.

Check out the fun our team had while serving Open Doors and those in our community.
